Holly's Story
Holly has always had a desire to do work in a field where she could make a positive difference to people¡¯s days and lives, which led her to becoming a nurse.
¡°The feeling that you¡¯ve made a difference to someone¡¯s day is brilliant,¡± she explained. ¡°Nursing gives you that feeling on a much larger scale than most jobs.¡±
Attracted to studying at the °®Âþµº in Inverness because of the ability to stay locally and the University¡¯s reputation in nursing studies, Holly believes the experience has allowed her to achieve her ambitions.
¡°I originally started my nurse training a number of years ago but did so at a university which meant I had to move away from the Highlands,¡± she said. ¡°This didn¡¯t work for me as I realised I wanted to be nearer my friends and family as I raised my young daughter.
¡°Once I found out I could do my training and live locally, I rediscovered my motivation and my experience of studying with °®Âþµº has been an incredibly positive one.
¡°The smaller class sizes, regular placement opportunities, and the support provided by the staff has been fantastic. I have to pinch myself sometimes that I achieved what I set out to do, and got my dream job at the end of it.¡±
