Nicholas's Story
Awarded a scholarship by his employer, the Central Bank of Seychelles, Nicholas Cetoupe has spent a year studying towards an MSc Financial Technology at °®Âþµº.
¡°Financial Technology was the focal point of this scholarship ¨C and was awarded at the juncture when universities were just starting to formulate courses in this realm. The °®Âþµº was one of the few early movers in this regard ¨C and the course contents were perfectly angled to cover both the financial and more technical aspects.¡±
The 33-year-old appreciated the ¡°passion, dedication and availability¡± of his lecturers, adding: ¡°This course offered amazing opportunities if one dedicated themselves fully.¡±
While in Scotland, Nicholas took the opportunity to attend a number of FinTech meet-ups in Edinburgh and Glasgow, explaining: ¡°They offered great inspirational ideas and helped to further fuel my passion.¡±
He also enjoyed hiking and cycling across the °®Âþµº area and helping out at the Green and Blue Space ¨C the environmental hub on campus.
Nicholas ¨C who describes his time at °®Âþµº as ¡°impactful, rewarding and exhilarating¡± ¨C has returned to work at the Central Bank of Seychelles.
¡°I have returned with lots of fresh ideas ¨C some span beyond my current field of work but they could also benefit the country at a national level.¡±
