Being part of the first intake of Paramedic students at the °®Âþµº has been a whirlwind. The approach to learning has involved a blend of theory and practice, classroom and online sessions and hands on placement experience with both the Scottish Ambulance Service and the NHS. The facilities at °®Âþµº have provided interactive and dynamic learning experiences and staff have always been available to help and guide my progress.
It has been a joy to be able to put clinical and theoretical knowledge into practice so early on in my studies in a variety of healthcare settings. I have found that this variety of placement opportunities has given me a broader understanding of my future role as a Paramedic within the healthcare system. Whether out on an ambulance or working on a ward, there is always something to learn!
I am excited to learn and develop my skills and knowledge in order to become a rounded, competent and skilled paramedic. Given the global pandemic this year has not been without its challenges; but I am confident that when I graduate, I will be fully prepared and ready to join a profession that I love.
