Laura's Story
Having worked in the housing sector for the last ten years, Laura was keen to further her education and gain a well-respected and recognised qualification.
Choosing to study as a part-time, distance learner, the 29-year-old was able to continue to work full-time while obtaining her Diploma over two years.
¡°Studying this way meant I could remain in my current role, while also pursuing a qualification which would help me develop my career, and hopefully move in to a management role¡±, Laura said.
¡°Working, studying and caring for a young child all at once, initially proved quite challenging. I soon got in to a routine and with much planning, I was able to dedicate enough time to each element of the course.¡±
Laura describes her time at °®Âþµº as ¡°enjoyable, memorable and inspirational¡± and was grateful for the support she received from both staff and her peers.
¡°The lecturers always offered their time and assistance to whoever needed it,¡± she says. ¡°I built very helpful and supportive relationships with not only the staff, but my fellow students too.¡±
Laura is now looking forward to her next career move and putting her learning in to practice: ¡°With the academic knowledge I¡¯ve gained, I want to make real changes to the housing sector.¡±
