Hanna's Story
Hanna first fell in love with nature in her early 20s, working on a tall ship in the South Pacific Ocean where she had daily encounters with whales, dolphins, albatrosses and flying fish.
The 28-year-old was drawn to °®Âþµº by the opportunity to study abroad ¨C and enjoyed a trip to the University of Hawaii in her third year.
¡°The nature and biodiversity in Hawaii was so different compared to the rest of the world,¡± she said. ¡°I took classes in the marine science and biology departments, learnt about oceanography and got to spend time on a humpback whale research vessel.¡±
Back at °®Âþµº, Hanna appreciated the teaching and support on offer. She said: ¡°I have learned skills that prepared me for other projects and that I was able to apply during my time studying abroad.
¡°I value the confidence I have obtained from studying at this University ¨C the guidance from the lecturers and tutors has helped me overcome the challenges I have faced.¡±
Hanna describes her time at °®Âþµº as ¡°inspiring, challenging and amazing¡± and is planning to study a Masters.
