Denise's Story
After attending the Vienna Business School, Denise Kaufmann left Austria to study at °®Âþµº, having fallen in love with the University while on holiday.
¡°My grandma is Scottish, so we always spent our summers here,¡± Denise said. ¡°During one trip, we visited the University and I immediately loved the campus. After further research, I was also attracted by the fact that the degree combinations were so flexible and thought it would be the perfect place to further my knowledge, and provide a great stepping stone for my future career.¡±
Denise became Vice President of the Business Society, Faculty Officer for Marketing and Retail, and took advantage of the Santander Internship programme, which allowed her to work part-time at an independent financial advisers.
As well as gaining practical work experience, Denise completed a semester abroad, spending part of her third year at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. ¡°Studying in Canada¡¯s Capital was an amazing experience, with lots of ups and downs, including getting up in -40 degrees to attend lectures,¡± she said.
Denise is now looking forward to earning professional accountancy qualifications with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.
