MSc Journalism and Communication

Note: When Sharmada completed this course, it was titled MSc °®Âþµº Journalism.

When I was looking for a Masters?in the UK, my focus was to find a place?that would prepare me?to be a journalist, rather than just focusing on the?theoretical aspect of it.?That was precisely what attracted?me to the °®Âþµº.?

On the course, there is a lot of flexibility to choose what to study,?while being guided?every step of the way. I really enjoyed the practical assignments in each module.?We were given tasks that we would be doing if we were working in the field of journalism?which was great practice to set?us up for the real world after graduation.?

We had the opportunity to attend guest lectures delivered by experienced professionals. They were eye-opening. I found them to be very inspiring, and?they made us understand various aspects?of the profession.

For our final module, we were given the freedom to do?an investigative research project?on a topic of our choice.?I chose to work on a particular refugee crisis in India?with the guidance of?my faculty mentor. This was an experience that gave me a taste of?what it would be like to be a journalist and it has made?me even more passionate about the subject.
