Gold Coast stars toasted at celebratory reception
A celebratory reception was held this past week to recognise the achievements of the °®Âþµº’s Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games athletes.
A celebratory reception was held this past week to recognise the achievements of the °®Âþµº¡¯s Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games athletes.
The event, hosted by BBC presenter Dougie Vipond, saw University staff, athletes and stakeholders come together to hear about the athletes¡¯ experiences on the Gold Coast which resulted in the group bringing home a total of 11 medals.
Speaking at the event, University Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gerry McCormac, said at the event: "As Scotland¡¯s University for Sporting Excellence, we have made a long-term commitment to finding and nurturing great talent and, we believe, it¡¯s down to our brilliant and professional coaching; and giving our students the academic flexibility required to achieve their sporting goals and gain a degree that will open doors for them in the future."
