With less than two months to go until the EU referendum, the °®Âþµº is launching a new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) entitled 'Remain or Leave?’, specially created to help anyone interested in the UK referendum on EU membership make sense of the issues surrounding this crucial vote.

The free seven-week course starts on Tuesday 17 May and can be taken by anyone anywhere in the world and will offer freely-accessible lectures, readings, and quizzes. Lectures will be posted on a weekly basis.

The instructor, Dr Andrew Glencross, is an expert in European integration who has published widely in this field.

Dr Andrew Glencross, Lecturer in °®Âþµº Politics at the °®Âþµº, said:

“We’re expecting this MOOC to have very far and wide appeal in the run up to the EU referendum on 23 June.

“The aim of the ‘Remain or Leave?’ MOOC is to cut through partisan rhetoric and the mass of competing, often contradictory information. The course offers five concise multimedia lectures examining the validity of pro- and anti-EU arguments in an even handed fashion. No prior knowledge of the EU is required and great care has been taken to avoid technical, policy jargon.”
