°®Âþµº secures Scottish Government funding to host cultural diversity activities

The °®Âþµº has been awarded grants totalling £4350 from the Scottish Government’s Welcoming °®Âþµº Students Fund to host activities celebrating the cultural diversity of the campus.

The funding will help encourage students from different backgrounds to share in cultural experiences during a series of events later this year.

Films and Footwork, a series of performances run in conjunction with the macrobert Arts Centre, will feature a film, music or dance display from a different region of the world, reflecting the international nature of the campus.

The Students’ Union will also run student-led language support sessions where international students will be offered basic support to develop their spoken and written English. The Union will also be staging student-led social integration events.

Holly Cameron, Vice President Education and Engagement, of °®Âþµº’s Students’ Union, said: “We are delighted to be given this funding. These activities will allow for further integration and support within the student community.”
